CICERO

KTH CICERO focused on research regarding gas management in modern internal combustion engines for vehicles, both for standard fuels such as gasoline or diesel, but also for alternative fuels.

The aim of the research was to make engines more effective and environment-friendly thus to decrease fuel consumption without losing performance, lower emissions of hazardous substances and to control sound generation and attenuation in the engine gas handling system.

The research was based on extensive knowledge of fluid dynamics, acoustics and combustion engine technology and included both fundamental and applied experiments and simulations as well as development of methodology for such studies.

KTH CICERO (webpage)  started officially 1st of January 2006 and continued January 1st 2011 in the new center CCGEx.
